From the mountains to the sea, a youth exchange about ecology which went from Austria to Norway and now in The Netherlands in Assel. Where youth come together from Norway, Austria, Italy and The Netherlands.
Every time a youth exchange leaves a mark on people, it is an experience that everyone lives in it's own way. So we like to ask participants how they experienced the project and this time we asked Luigi Gagliani about his experience. The project from the mountains to the sea was all about nature and environment. How do things work in the different countries and what can we learn from eachother.

During the project we did a nature hike through the Veluwe. Got to learn a bit about the Veluwe, the forest and wetlands in The Netherlands. We went into the forest to discover nature by smelling, feeling, seeing and tasting wild plants. Did some tree skinning, gardening, and wood chopping. We immersed ourselves in nature and got to learn a lot.
"I will never forget the serenity and curiosity that this lifestyle gave me"
Luigi (Italy)
Participating in the Erasmus+ program in Assel was an extraordinary experience. From the very first days, the impact of being in such a different context and completely immersed in nature was incredibly stimulating.
As soon as we arrived, we received a very warm welcome from all the Don Bosco staff, who took care of us for the entire duration of the adventure. I never thought i could meet so many people from different cultures and habits, while creating such a strong and deep bond at the same time; I will never forget the serenity and curiosity that this lifestyle gave me.

"It is an extraordinary opportunity that goes far beyond just traveling or visiting a new country"
I came back home with a heavy heart, but aware that everything I experienced and learned will always stay with me, together with a greatly improved cultural and linguistic background and a much more open, European, and future-oriented mindset.
I highly recommend participating in a project like this, because it is an extraordinary opportunity that goes far beyond just traveling or visiting a new country. This experience allows you to get in direct contact with different cultures, traditions, and backgrounds, breaking down prejudices and incredibly expanding your mental horizons.
